I finished!!! I'm so happy... And for once I don't hate all of it, however, the hand is bugging me somewhat. I seriously need to practice drawing hands, they're such a pain Anyway, This is Gackt (again, I apologise for drawing him time and time again) The hair took a good long while, but I am happy with the overall result.
I have seen many traditionally drawn versions of this Gackt-picture and your is the best so far. Gackt in your drawing looks like Gackt in every aspect. Very well done, the skin is very smooth, not blurry dusty-looking like in some works I have seen^^ The hair and hand look good. My favourites in this art piece are his eye and lips which I always find very difficult to draw but you did justice for them Pls, don't completely stop drawing Gackt in case you like to draw him because I'm sure many others including myself like to watch your completed works and WIPs of Gackt^^
Thank you for such an awesome comment! I am actually working on a Gackt drawing now, I love love love drawing him. It's always so lovely to hear such lovely comments about my drawings, it gives me motivation to do more so thank you!!!
You're welcome! I have also favourited some of your drawings and added you to my DeviantWatch in case you have not noticed yet. You, and your awesome drawing skills (conserning every piece of art, not just Gackt,) deserve it!
Hands are a pain, but I think you did a really good job. I thought this was Aki (from SID) for a moment. But once I clicked on it I could tell it wasn't. when you draw portraits it's easy to tell who it is because you draw them so well.
your tonal values are so amazing... i love the smooth look. everything is so... neat and tidy. perhaps the tips of the fingers feel slightly unfinished but its hardly a noticable thing with how amazing the face, shoulders and hair look!
Oh well don't feel bad I have a horrible habit myself at getting impatient with things. I tend to leave the things that are hardest/least interesting for last (hair, fingers, etc) and by that time I'm so ready for the drawing to resolve I usually rush it!
Oh my gosh, that's stunning, your anatomy work has very good proportions and your shade just amazing *w* I just feel weird the angule of those fingers, but hey, the shade work, that hair effect, that realistic feeling, so cool, awesome job
Awesomeness *-* I love your technique! I wish i could make my drawings that smooth... If i have to say something that bothers me i would agree with you about the hands through... The fingertips looks a little unfinished. What really bothers me is that i can see that you can make them look as awesome as the face
